<p>People spend a lot of money on the formation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. Ever been enthusiastic to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then recognized that the crucial tag line is gone or your logo has been squashed.</p>
<p>There is only one way to stop this from happening and that is to use a style guide. Not only will a style guide help you steer the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you sustain your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The common question heard when purchasing a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: should I purchase an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, which stands for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, short for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most popular projector imaging technologies. With so many company brands and different types available, it can be overwhelming for clients to choose between the two technologies. Ultimately LCD projectors have better image quality and colour accuracy. The article below explains why DLP projectors struggle with projecting a comparable standard of image quality.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s like a set of blinds in your household covering your bedroom window. With the twist of a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, according to if you want to let light in or not. This is exactly how an LCD projector works. Each pixel works like an individual shutter on a set of blinds to either shine light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is created of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the pros like to call them. Each pixel element operates to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the point when the projector is switched on to when the image reaches your screen is absolutely important for image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors project white light from the lamp by cutting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which direct the coloured light to 3 stand alone LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels cast the elements of the image by switching each pixel on and off. The pixels are then combined in a glass prism to send the projector image. An important point to realise about LCD projectors is that all three colours are directed onto your wall at the same time. The way a DLP projector works is vastly different and even how an image comes out is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a spinning colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of forming an image forms a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as described above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to construct the image elements. The elements of the image are cast in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s vision will then draw each coloured element of the image into the complete image. From LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to deliver the highest brightness and superb colour accuracy. In DLP, only one colour is available at a time, resulting in lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP developers have included a white segment in the colour wheel to improve brightness generally, but this also degrades colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I see in forums all the time that DLP offers a higher contrast ratio and as such must be better. For those who do not know, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the machine is able to produce. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications as compared to most LCD projectors. At first glance, this appears to be a plus, however, in truth, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is used. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to see requires moving images, DLP projection technology also has image marks, or ‘artifacts’. The most common artifact that a DLP projector shows with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is incontrovertible in DLP systems because moving images change position between the time red, blue and green colours are shone. LCD projectors do not have this disadvantage because all colours are delivered at the same time. DLP developers have developed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to solve the colour break up problem, but the price tag of these projectors make them hardly practical for the majority of businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another point of difference between LCD and DLP is how they balance for the refractive qualities of light. Think back to high school science, and recall when they taught you how the different colours of light refract various amounts when projected through the same lens. The downfall with DLP projectors is that they utilise the one same panel and the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are different and refract light at different levels. Generally with a DLP projector, an extra yellow colour will come up above and a spill of blue will be projected below an image of something as simple as a lone black line. In building LCD projectors can be adapted to minimize these effects on the projected image, because each colour is refracted on a separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The isolated actual benefit (excluding price) with going with a DLP projector is its smaller overall size and weight. However, this is only relevant in regard to mobility and has to be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. If the result of the picture quality is vital to you, then the choice is no-brainer. Go with an LCD projector! LCD projectors will constantly make bright, colourful images with fewer image imperfections. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch rose to preeminence in sea power during the 17th century, the first yacht had been a pleasure craft used first by royalty and secondly by the burghers on the canals as well as the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing was incidental, coming out of private matches. English yachting began with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his restoration to the English throne in 1660, the city of Amsterdam presented him with a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he then named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), made additional yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and returning, on a Â£100 bet. Yachting became popular among the affluent and aristocracy, but after that time the habit did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht group in the British Isles, the Water Club, was formed at about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard group, with great naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to racing boats was the “chase,” for which the “fleet” pursued an imagined enemy. The club persisted, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, by joining with other societies, it became the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing began in some ordered fashion on the Thames about the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV came to the throne in 1820, it came to be called the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded following a racing dispute, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht society had been started at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal sponsorship made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continuing setting of British yacht racing. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, again at the ascension of George IV. All members were required to have boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing matches for great bids were held, and the club life was lovely. Eventually Royal Yachting Club boats were raised in size to over 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting began with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and persisted when the English gained dominance. Sailing was largely for pleasure and found its epitome in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which traveled on the Mediterranean Sea and created a standard of luxury and elegance for the later yachts in those waters from the late 19th century. The first enduring American yacht club, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens instigated the New York Yacht Club while aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>The Early sailing yachts took the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century through the latter half of the 19th century. The craft of bigger yachts was first heavily impacted by the success of America, which was created by George Steers for a group started by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) was named after its win at Cowes in 1851. The first yachts were not designed and crafted in a contemporary sense, with just a model being used. Not until the second half of the 19th century did what was known as naval architecture come about. Not until the 1920s did the use of the research of aerodynamics do for the design of sails and rigging what it had already done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats had to be individually custom-built, there arose a requirement for handicapping boats previous to the one-design class boats were made. Therefore, a rating rule came into being, which resulted in the International Rule, adopted in 1906 and amended in 1919. In modern times, one of the most rapidly flourishing areas in the sailing industry is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are manufactured to the same dimensions in length, beam, sail area, and other aspects (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing between those boats can be had on an even par with no handicapping necessary. A great example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class taken on for yachts in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>As long as yachting belonged largely for the royal and the affluent, cost was no problem, and the size of boats grew, in both length and weight. The ascendancy and preference of smaller yachts came in the latter half of the 19th century from the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A trip around the world (1895–98) led single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray proved the seaworthiness of less sizeable boats. Following this in the 20th century, particularly after World War II, smaller racing and recreational craft became more popular, down to the dinghy, a preferred training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, boats of less than 3 m were sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>Following the decade 1840–50, in which steam began to emulate sail power in public boats, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were employed increasingly in personal yachts. Sizeable power yachts were progressed to a high standard, and long-distance travel turned into a favoured pastime of the wealthy. The first power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; those then gave rise to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller kind of propulsion. As well as naval and merchant yachts, auxiliaries with both sail and power were the yacht archetype for many years. By the second half of the 20th century, a lot of yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were only power yachts that had gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>From the last decade of the 19th century there was a rise in the manufacture of bigger steam yachts. Conspicuous of these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, that had triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was operated by a crew of at least 150. The Mayflower, bought by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and gave active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more reliable internal-combustion engines were developed, many large craft started using them for power. The creation of the diesel engine, using heavy oil for fuel, was furthered for World War I. During the decade after that, large power-yacht building grew, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. From that period the largest auxiliary yacht constructed was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The manufacture of larger power yachts declined after 1932, and the style from then was in preference of smaller, less expensive boats. From World War II, lots of small naval boats were bought by private owners for conversion to yachts. At the late 20th century, yachting had become a internationally beloved sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen individually sailing and maintaining their own small leisure boats. The number of yachts and owners increased steadily, not only in the traditional locations on the sea but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes are distinguished by the effect they have on the placement of income and wealth. A proportional tax is the kind that applies the same relative requirement on all taxpayers—i.e., in the case where tax liability and income move in relative levels. A progressive tax is recognised by a more than proportional growth in the tax burden in relation to the increase in income, and a regressive tax is recognisable by a less than proportional increase in the related liability. Ergo, progressive taxes are viewed as taking away a lack of equality in income distribution, while regressive taxes may result in increasing these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are usually believed to be progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are initially progressive, however, might become less so within the upper-income demographic—in particular if a taxpayer is permitted to lessen his tax base by nominating deductions or by leaving out certain income aspects from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates if applied to lower-income demographics will also be more progressive if such personal exemptions are declared.</p>
<p>Income measured over the course of a given period does not definitely provide the best measure of taxpaying status. For example, transitory growth in income might be saved, and in temporary declines in income a taxpayer could select to finance consumption by taking from savings. Therefore, if taxation is held in comparison alongside “permanent income,” it would be less regressive (or more progressive) than when it is held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (with the exception of those on luxuries) are generally regressive, because the spread of individual income consumed or spent on specific goods lowers as the rate of personal income is raised. <p>In assessing the economic effect of taxation, it is relevant to distinguish between varied ideas of tax rates. The statutory rates include those nominated in the legislation; commonly these are marginal rates, but sometimes they are mean rates.
